HCVA Main Board & Operations

  • Julian Barratt

    Julian was brought up surrounded by cars and bits of cars and so feels like he has been in this industry all his life.

    He was first drafted in to work at SNG Barratt in his school holidays and has been with the company full time for more than 20 years – working in almost every department before becoming MD in 2009 and now operating as CEO. 

  • Paul Griffin

    Paul was a law firm partner in the City engaged in the deals and disputes of the international energy business.

    Following his retirement in 2016, he remains in the law as Professor at the University of Dundee, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an International Mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution.

    Paul writes and advises on issues affecting the historic car sector.

  • Emma Crickmay

    Joint Managing Director of Frank Dale & Stepsons Ltd, the oldest independent specialist of Rolls Royce and Bentley worldwide. Together with her brother Giles Crickmay, Emma runs the family business which is now 75 years old.

    Before joining the firm on a permanent basis Emma worked in an advisory role with the Chief Executives, Chairs and Boards of an NGO and later a philanthropic organisation engaging with government departments and private business to affect sustainable change in various areas of society. 

  • Guy Lachlan

    Guy is a Director of Classic Oils Ltd and SOS Workshop Ltd, the home of National Geographic’s ‘Car SOS’.

    As well as being a passionate Classic Vehicle enthusiast, Guy is also expert in collective representation to Westminster and Brussels, and having run the UK’s largest Business Jet trade association in the past is comfortable making the case for niche British Industries.

    He has also served on the Boards of the Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership and the British Independent Retailers Association where he is currently Vice-President. 

  • Henry Pearman

    Henry has spent a lifetime obsessed with cars, joining his local motor club at just 13 years of age.

    A three year bespoke course took him to a fully qualified management level in the motor trade, with practical experience at Brands Hatch, working on the race school cars, followed by three years at a Rolls Royce and Bentley specialist, working in the service and also in all the restoration departments. This was briefly followed by helping with the formation of a new Ferrari specialist.

    Just turned 21, in 1984 Henry followed his life long passion and love of the Jaguar E-type and established Eagle, which has become a world class specialist and restorer.

  • Garry Wilson

    Garry, our CEO, has had a highly successful career in the automotive industry over 35 years with OEM’s, global tier 1 suppliers, SME’s and not-for-profit organisations.

    Starting as a graduate trainee working his way through, engineering, manufacturing, programme and leadership roles at Land Rover during its time with Honda, BAe and BMW influences. He has subsequently held an impressive range of senior roles in automotive sector engineering, innovation, manufacturing and supply businesses.

    Recently he played a key part in managing the transformation the sector is undergoing helping to establish the Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centre and the Advanced Propulsion Centre which facilitates funding to UK-based projects developing low-carbon emission technologies.

  • Shân Stokes

    Shân has been involved with classic cars as an enthusiast for over 30 years, owning a collection over time that has included classic British and Eastern European vehicles and British sports cars.

    She has a background in classic car clubs, the wine industry and classic car auctions and brings her valuable administrative and business skills to help the development of the HCVA.
